The DeRellas - High Rise Supersize (E.P. review)

UK's own Glam Punk rockers are back with an irresistible single !

One of the busiest band from sunny England is unleashing their first record since the arrival of their new singer Joey.

The release of this 3 songs E.P. being backed up by a Tour as well.

And for a first delivering they did it great. I love when they are at their romping-stomping-glittering best and it is exactly what this new gem is.

"High Rise Supersize" really has all the qualities required for a single, including a chorus cut for mass appeal, catchier than Captain Hook missing hand's tool, Joey's voice being sweet enough for Glam anthems yet incisive to drop social comments.

The DeRellas are a Punk band after all.

And that exactly what the 2nd track is making clear. More aggressive "I Got Something To Say" is a basic punk number knowing how to make its point without sacrificing the melody and the hooks. Well done.

Closing the E.P. the band is covering Sweet's classic "Fox On The Run", described in their press release as "cheeky". It sure is a cool version and during their live gigs it might help to attract a larger audience since teenagers are now more familiar with this song, thanks to the soundtrack of Marvel's Gardians Of The Galaxy 2.

The DeRellas are devoted rockers that deserve all the support they can get. So grab a copy of this record in one form or another (or even better : in all three options) and try to catch them in a club near you during their Spring Tour, it's always great fun to share a moment with them.
